Waka Flocka Flame

Many rappers like Common and John Legend rap about what goes on in the world. Waka Flocka Flame is the complete opposite. His style is closer to Tupac’s who is a big inspiration to his music. He makes the type of music to get you hyped in the club, or even at home. His first big hit,”O Lets Do It” quickly climbed the billboard charts. He gained even more popularity when platinum artists like Diddy and Rick Ross jumped on the remix

Waka Flocka Flame was born Juaquin Malphurs on May 31, 1986. Many people wonder where he gets “Waka Flocka Flame” from. Fozzie Bear’s catch phrase “Waka Waka” from the muppets, gave his cousin a great idea to call Juaquin , Waka. The Flocka Flame came from Gucci Mane, a formal member of Brick Squad. Waka Flocka Flame was sigend to Brick Squad in 2009, with other members like OJ Da Juiceman, Frenchie, and Wooh Da Kid. Step by step, Waka made it to where he is now, one of the most popular rappers.

Flame has rapped about people that had scarred him in the past. For example, in his new hit single “Rumors”, he explains his incident when he got shot. At a car wash in Atlanta on January 19, 2010, he was shot and robbed. The bullet went straight through his right arm. That gave him a great idea to write a song. “They wanna see me dead, putting prices on m head, spreadin rumors round’ town, like I fell down. They cant hold me down, they can’t stop my shine, they cant block my grind shawty its game time. Poru for life breads off the elms n***a.” This personally was one of my favorite songs from Flame. Flame is one of my favorite rappers aside from Lil Wayne.  I know you’re probably thinking they are two different types of rappers, but it’s the words that come out of they’re mouth. When Flame was growing up his inspiration was Tupac.

Abused Computers

    Many schools try to give the opportunity to use the computers instead of boring textbooks, but students are starting to abuse it.
 
   Computers are a big deal now. Maybe taking the computers away from students who abuse them will help give focus. As I was sitting on the computer researching, I found out that Examiner.com says "There is no sense in fighting this change, for these tools are too useful." When asked "Do you think teachers should take the privilege of students using the computers, since most students can't focus?" Charity Abram, a senior at Sierra says, "I don"t think they should take the computers because we"re going to find a way to use them anyway."
 
   What do teachers say about these computers? I took a trip to the library and spoke to Linda Turnbull, and Reba Holmes, two library teachers at Sierra. Mrs. Homes thought it would be a good idea if a student and a parent went to the district and brought up the subject of using computers during school. "I think they should ask about the polices and why they have them and if they can be changed," Holmes. "Students aren't allowed to get on online sites in the library, but it's kind of hard because the district has a Facebook," Turnbull explains to me. "I also think it would be best for students not to, because it slows down the computers for eveyone."
 
   While discussing with Nico Osorio, he explains that he uses the computers for actual school use. When asked "Do you think most students choose to get on online sites instead of school work?" He says, "I really can't spectulate on what students are doing." In other words he can't assume what other students are doing while he's doing his own work.
 
    Aside from other students, Nico believes that having computers are a great idea. "It keeps students away from sleeping and not paying attention with textbooks." Depending on the student, some actually pay attention like Nico and work on school work. Nico tells me, "I do my work in 5 mintues and have the rest of the time to screw around, but that's only because I understand the conxept." So maybe students should start paying attention, get their done and have time to do what you want to.

    "Would you say that the computer use could causse anxiety to students?" Nico says, "I think it would cause less;it helps maintian it actually. Instead of having many books to read, you can just have your computer." Multiple students agree with what Nico said. Like Anissa Zapata. She says, "Computers are bad for students that don't pay attention because, it causes them to lose focus in class, but good for the studnets who use it for resources."

 I belive that computers are a great idea, but teachers should make the students show their work before getting on the computer and make sure their work is completed.

Wayne is the most popular rapper aside from Emienm. Nobody can touch Wayne. "Right Above It" Ft. Drake reached #23 on the Billboard Charts 100. He is a clever rapper. "Meet me on the fresh trian, Yes Im in the building you just on the list." Clever don't you say? (:

-The Story Of Me.

This is Brandii Smith. Born October 10th 1995. She struggles to survive in this world; depressed. Brandii is no size 2, long hair, beautiful girl. She is the exact opposite. (She thought]. She claims no guy would ever love her, but she was wrong.
The first thing that strikes you about Brandii is her confidence. She is loud, funny, and a great friend to many. you would never think that she has low self-esteem. She’ll greet you with a smile and a warm hug. Her favorite hobbies are singing, writing, and hanging with friends. But when it comes to her emotions, everything changes. She won’t want to sing, or hang with her friends. The only thing to stop her tears, seems to be music and writing. She could sit in her room all day writing about how painful it is to be Brandii.
This is a story about being in Brandii’s shoes. People always say: No one is ever alone. But Brandii begs to differ. The feeling of being alone is horrifiying. As she looks around finding loved ones holding hands, she starts to cry. If only Brandii had someone to love, she wouldn’t feel so lonely. The one thing about Brandii that brings her down is patience. She can’t hardly wait for somebody to love, or even a close friend. Every guy that does come along, Brandii tries to hold on tight. If it doesn’t go well, she has thoughts of giving up.
It is August 20, 2010, and she is no where in the state of mind of loneliness. Even though she’s single, she believes she is loved. Not only by God, family and friends, But by the angel God sent her. She didn’t have to be a size 2, or have long hair for him to love her. In his eyes, she’s the most beautiful girl he’s seen. Their relationship is not easy, but what relationship is?? Brandii has learned to wait on love. That’s why no matter how many problems they have, she has not gave up. When true love comes along, no way is she going to let it pass. She’s waited too long.
Of course what makes Brandii interesting, is that she may come off weak, but is always strong. No matter what situation she goes through, she can hold her head up high, and continue to move on. Living in this hurtful world depressed, is not easy. One of her favorite quotes is, “When you laugh, the world will laugh with you; but when you cry, you cry alone.” But now that her angel has come along, her new favorite quote is “Love when you’re ready, not when your lonely.”
